Anna Catherine Wolljung

When Anna Catherine Wolljung was eighteen years old she married Mickel Gutapfel in Geisweiler, Alsace on December 21, 1815. They had four children: Michael, George, Mary and Magdalene. During the summer of the year 1828 Anna and her husband Mikel traveled across the Atlantic Ocean. The journey was said to have taken 52 days. The oldest of their four children would have been no more than twelve years old at the time. The family settled in Amherst, Erie County, New York in August of the year 1828.

Sometime after they settled in New York Mickel Goodapple died. Anna Catherine married Samuel Kittenger in 1836. Anna would have been 39 years old. The couple settled in Buffalo, New York. A year later they had their first child, Caroline Kittenger, born February 20, 1837. Two years after that, in 1839, they had their second child, Joseph Kittenger. Sometime after Joseph's birth the family moved to Cambria (Niagara County) New York. It was there on March 29, 1841, at the age of forty-four, Anna and Samuel had their final child, Anna Marie Kittenger.

Anna Catherine Kittenger died on May 28, 1862 at the age of 65. Her husband, Samuel, died on November 16, 1863.
